About the Author: Thuy-Anh Nguyen is the daughter of Vietnamese refugees and this is her debut memoir, written to honour the quiet courage of the parents who gave her everything. Born in Sarnia, Ontario, she has lived in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. A lawyer by profession and fluent in both Vietnamese and English, Thuy-Anh brings a rare sensitivity and precision to the task of capturing her family's journey—writing the story as it was told to her, and as it has lived within her.
